Paloma Lake is built around the water, and it's one of the newer parts of Round Rock. The water is the same hard City of Round Rock supply as the rest of town, so scale and salt cell upkeep are what we see most.
When the equipment is newish, hard water isn't competing with old age. It's the whole problem, and it works quietly until something stops.

Paloma Lake went in between 2007 and 2019. The water out here is the same hard City of Round Rock supply as the rest of town, and what it's quietly doing to the equipment is usually what we end up finding. It's Williamson County, and we're out around the lake most weeks.

Paloma Lake sits on chalky, lime-heavy ground running about a third to 40 percent clay, at roughly 710 to 730 feet. Runoff varies across the neighborhood from moderate to very high depending which side of the lake you're on.
On the high-runoff streets a heavy storm moves water and grit fast, so filters fill sooner. And the lime in the ground is the same lime in your water, which is why scale is the recurring theme on an otherwise young neighborhood. Weekly cleaning is the simplest way to keep on top of it.
Paloma Lake is about five miles from the shop, roughly nine minutes. The lake it's named for sits at the center of the neighborhood, and Siena North Park is a third of a mile off the north edge.
Which side of the lake you're on genuinely changes the job, because the runoff and the wind exposure are different from one shore to the other. Old Settlers Park, Dell Diamond and Kalahari Resorts sit back down Highway 79 toward Round Rock, along the corridor we drive in on.
Red Bud Lane and Highway 79 take us most of the way, then County roads carry us the last stretch. Old Settlers Park and the ball complexes are a mile and a half back southwest, which is the direction we come from.
What your pool needs here depends a good deal on which streets you're on.
Directly on Paloma Lake. More wind across the water and more debris than the interior streets get.
Toward Siena North Park, where the newer phases sit and the lake wind reaches the pads.
Sheltered from the lake wind, and generally the easiest pools here to keep steady.

The other thing worth knowing is that we answer. Text us or call and you get a person, not a queue and not a form that disappears. We're at it Monday through Friday, 8 to 8, and Saturday mornings, and we read every message that comes in, so if something is wrong with your pool the fastest thing you can do is send us a note about it. Photos help, but they're not required.
